Donate to Community Ministry While Buying Groceries at Kroger
Did you know you can donate to the Community Ministry when you buy your groceries? If you shop for groceries at Kroger, here’s a way to help at no cost to you. To do this, set up a digital account using your Kroger Card by going to kroger.com. Sign in to your account and scroll to the bottom of the page. Under the COMMUNITY column, click Kroger Community Rewards. That link will take you to the directions to set up Kroger Rewards on your account. When prompted for the organization, search for Walnut Street Baptist Church CSM/IRP or the code VP528. Select and save. When you shop, the Walnut Street name will appear at the bottom of your receipt. The Community Ministry quarterly receives a check of a percentage of everything that you buy. You can also call customer service (1-800-576-4377) to set up your account. For assistance or additional information, contact Janet Pearson.

January Assistance Report
The number of people living in food insecure households in the United States grew drastically in 2024. In the U.S. 1 in 7 people, including 1 in 5 children live in food insecure households. The Community Ministry statistics for the month of January are local proof of that national trend. During January, the WSBC Community Ministries provided food for 803 individuals, produce for 567 individuals, personal care hygiene and/or household items for 128 homes, and clothing for 176 individuals (including 67 new clients). The Infant Resource Mission provided necessities for 68 babies and toddlers.
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
